19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a torrid year, winning just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since that period of 2023.
Victory also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one championships at 21 various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.
"This title is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.
The player's counter-punching play style and regular emotional displays on court had led some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour title, gained dominance to push for a decider.
Moutet defended 4 early break points in a close final set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he earned the win with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
