Just as the recent storm swept through the northern region the night before, City overwhelmed United away at the their home ground. It was a convincing 3-0 victory for the City coach's side due to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a display that firmly established their leadership claims as they strengthened their place at the league summit.

Consecutive Defeats for United

This result represented consecutive league losses for Skinner's side for the initial occasion since last May, placing them seven points off the top team with their trophy ambitions hanging by a thread.

United’s ability to manage league and European football with a limited roster has been a widely debated topic since they earned a place in the UCL.
